SUBJECT. Import of transistors and diodes- Licensing to the manufacturers of valve type radio receivers and transistor radio receivers during April, 1964 March, 1965 .
No. 98 - ITC ( PN ) /64.-Attention of importers is invited to Annexure to Appendix 4 to the current Red Book in which the import policy for licensing of raw materials / components to manufacturers of Radio Receivers , Transistor Radio Receivers , Amplifiers and Car radios has been indicated . In terms of this policy , Import of transistors and diodes are not to be allowed against actual user licences granted for import of component parts of Valve Type Radio Receivers , Janta Radios and Transistor Radio Receivers .
2. On a review of the position , it has been decided to allow import of transis- tors and diodes against actual user licences granted during the current period for import of component parts of valve type radio receivers , janta radios and transis- tor radio receivers as indicated below:-
Licences for component parts of Valvealve Type Radio Receivers and Janta Radios .

Upto 20 % within 50 % portion of the licence endorsed for import of components for manufactur- ing transistor radios .
Licences for component parts of Upto 20 % of the face value of the licence.
3. The import of transistors and diodes against the A.U. licences for compo- nent parts of Valve type Radio Receivers and Janta Radios and Transistor Radio receivers , to the extent mentioned above will be allowed by the Customs Authori- ties on the strength of this Public Notice and it will not be necessary for the importers to submit their licences to the licensing authorities for endorsement.
