NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 11th November 1964

S.O. 3940/—Whereas a vacancy has occured in the House of the People conse- quent on the election of Shri Bhupendra Narayan Mandal, a member elected to that House from the Saharsa constituency in the State of Bihar, having been de- clared void by the High Court of Patna;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of section 149 of the Represen- tation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect, before the 22nd December, 1964, in accordance with the pro- visions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made thereunder, a person to fill the vacancy so caused.

S.O. 3941.—In pursuance of the provisions of section 30 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints, with respect to the bye-election to be held in the Saharsa Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Bihar in pursuance of its notification No. 100/BR-HP/2/64(l), dated the 11th November, 1964,—

(a) the 18th November, 1964, as the last date for making nominations;

(b) the 20th November, 1964, as the date for the scrutiny of nominations;

datures;

(d) the 13th December, 1964, as the date on which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and(e) the 22nd December, 1964, as the date before which the election shall be completed. [No. 100/BR-HP/2/64(2).]' ( 1 0 6 9)

S.O. 3942.—In pursuance of section 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 8-00 A.M. to 6-00 vM. as the hours during which a poll shall, If necessary, be taken for the election to the House of the People from the Saharsa Constituency to be held In pursuance of Its notification No. 100/BR-HP/,2/64(l), dated the 11th November, 1964.
