ORDER
New Delhi , the 22nd December1964
G.S.R. 1840. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Essential Commodities Act , 1955 ( 10 of 1955 ) , the Central Government hereby directs that the powers conferred on it by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 3 of the said Act to make orders to provide for the matters specified in clause ( d ) of sub - section ( 2 ) of that section , shall be exercisable also by the Government of the State of Madras in relation to regulation of movement of paddy within the said State.
2. The provisions of this Order shall have effect notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the Order of the Government of India in the Ministry of Food and Agriculture ( Department of Food ) No. G.S.R. 888 dated the 28th June, 1961.
