NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 24th December 1964
G.S.R. 1843.-Whereas the Central Government is of opinion that it is necessary so to do for controlling the rise in prices and preventing the hoarding of gram, jowar , bajra and maize in the State of Punjab .
Now, therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 3A) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act , 1955 ( 10 of 1955 ) , the Central Gov- ernment hereby directs that , notwithstanding anything contained in sub - section (3) of the said section 3 , the price at which gram , jowar , bajra or maize shall be sold in any locality in the State of Punjab in compliance with an order made with reference to clause ( f) of sub - section ( 2 ) of the said section 3 shall be regulated in accordance with the provisions of the said sub - section ( 3A) and also authorizes the Director of Food and Supplies , Government of Punjab , to deter- mine the average market rate of gram , jowar , bajra or maize in such locality in the State of Punjab aforesaid .
2. This notification shall remain In force for a period of three months .

ORDER

G.S.R. 1844.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - rule ( 2 ) of rule 125 of the Defence of India Rules , 1962 , the Central Government hereby rescinds the Sugar ( Prohibition of Manufacture and Sale of Grain - Sizes A and B ) Order , 1964 , published with the Order of the Government of India in the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (Department of Food ) No. G.S.R. 1603 dated the 2nd November 1964, except as respects things done or omitted to be done thereunder.
