NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 28th December, 1964.
S.O, 4393.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), and after previous pub- lication as required by sub-rule (6) of rule 11 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Rules, 1964, the Central Government hereby—
(1) notifies that jute hessian and jute sacking shall be subject to quality
control and inspection prior to export;
(2) specifies the inspection in accordance with the Export of Jute Hessian and Jute Sacking (Inspection) Rules, 1964, as the type of inspection which will be applied to jute hessian and jute sacking prior to their export;
(3) recognises the Indian Standards IS: 2810-1964, for lute hessian and IS: 2874-1964, IS: 1943-1964 and IS: 2875-1964 for jute sacking, issued by the Indian Standards Institution as the standard specification for jute hessian or, as the case may be, jute sacking; and
(4) prohibits the export in course of international trade of jute hessian and jute sacking- unless a mark or seal recognised by the Central Govern- ment has been affixed or applied to bales of such jute hessian and jute sacking.
2. Nothing in this notification shall apply to export by sea, land or air of sam- ples of jute hessian or jute sacking to prospective buyers.
3. In this notification—
(i) "Jute Hessian" shall mean hessian of the following constructions as described in the Indian Standard IS: 2818-1964, namely: —
(a) 305 g/m2; 47 X 47 (or 10 OZ/40 in; 11 X 12). (b) 229 g/m2 38 \ 35 (or 7} OZ/40 in; 9 X 9).
(ii) "Jute Sacking" shall mean jute sacking of the following types as describ- ed in the Indian Standard specified against each, namely: —
1234 T HE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II-SEC. 3(h)lS.O. 4394.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963) and after previous publica- tion as required by sub-rule (6) of rule 11 of Export (Quality Control and Inspec- tion) Rules 1964, the Central Government hereby recognises the Indian Standards Institution Certification. Mark with respect to jute hcssian and jute sacking for the purpose of denoting that where bales containing jute hessian or jute sacking are affixed with such mark, the jute hessian or jute sacking in such bales conforms to the standard hperiflcatlons applicable thereto under clause (c) of tectlon G of the said Act.
Explanation—In this notification—
(i) "Jute Hessian" shall mean hessian of the following constructions as described in the Indian Standard IS: 2818-1964, namely: —
(a) 305 glm?; 47 x 47 (or 10 OZ/40 in; 11 x 12). (b) 229 g/m2; 38 x 35 (or 7J OZ/40 in; 9 \ 9).
(ii) "Jute Sacking" shall mean jute sacking of the following types as describ- ed in the Indian Standard specified against each namely: —
(a) Heavy Cee Jute bags IS: 2874-1964. (b) A-Twill jute bags'IS: 1943-1964. (c) Jute corn sacks IS: 2875-1964,
