NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 12th January 1965

S.O. 237.—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House of the People by reason of the death of Shri H. C. Dasappa elected to that House from the Banga- lore parliamentary constituency in the State of Mysore;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect before the 20th February, 1965, in accor- dance with the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and orders made there- under, a person to fill the vacancy so caused.

S.O. 238.—In pursuance of the provisions of section 30 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints with respect to the bye-election to be held in the Bangalore parliamentary constituency in the State of Mysore in pursuance of its notification No. 100/MY-HP/3/64(l), dated the 13th January, 1965,—

(a) the 20th January, 1965, as the last date for making nominations;

(b) the 22nd January, 1965, as the date for scrutiny of nominations;

(c) the 25th January, 1965, as the last date for the withdrawal of candida- tures;

(d) the 14th February, 1969, as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and(e) the 20th February, 1965, as the date before which the election shall be completed. [No. 100/MY-HP/3/64(2),] ( 35)

1951, the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. as the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the election to the House of the People from the Bangalore parliamentary constituency to be held in pur- Buance of its notification No. 100/MY-HP/3/64(l), dated the 13th January, 1965.
