NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 28th January 1965

S.O. 373.—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House of the People by reason of the election of Shri Joti Saroop from the Hathras (SC) constituency having been declared void by the Election Tribunal, Aligarh;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of section 149 of the Representa- tion of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect before the 7th March, 1965, in accordance with the provisions at the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made thereunder, a person belonging to a Scheduled Caste to fill the vacancy so caused.

S.O. 374.—In pursuance of the provisions of section 30 of the Representation of the People Act. 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints, with respect to the bye-election to be held in the Hathras (SC) constituency of the House of the People in pursuance of its notification No. 100/UP-HP/2/64(l) dated tne 20th January. 1965:—

(a) the 1st February, 1965, as the last date tor making nominations;

(b) the 3rd February, 1965, as the date for scrutiny of nominations;

(c) the 6th February, 1965, as the last date for the withdrawal of candidate tures;

(d) the 28th February, 1965, as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and(e) the 7th March, 1965, as the date before which the election Shall be completed. [No. 100/UP-HP/2/64(2).] ( 6 9)
