NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 5th February 1965

S.O. 459.—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the seals allotted to the State of Rajasthan in the Council of States caused by the resignation of Shri Kumbha Ram;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 147 of the Representation of the People Act. 1951, trie Election Commission hereby calls upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rajasthan to elect, in accordance with the provision of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made thereunder, a person to fill the vacancy so caused before the 3rd March, l965.

S.O. 460.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 34 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 the Election Commission hereby appoints, for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No 100/RJ-CS/2/64(l), dated the 5th February, 1965.—

(a) the 12th February, 1965, as the last date for making nominations, (b) the 15th February, 1965, as the date for the scrutiny of nominations; (c) the 18th February, 1965, as the last date for the withdrawal of candi-

datures;

(d) the 27th February, 1965, as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary,be taken; and (e) the 3rd March, 1965, as the date before which the election shall be completed. [No. l00/RJ-CS/2/64(2).] 81

S.O. 462.—In exercise-¹ pf the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section; 22 of the Representation of the People Act. 1951,, the Election Commission ncreD/ appoints the Deputy Secretary, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, Jaipur, to assist the Returning Officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pur- suance of its notification No. 100/RJ-CS/2/(14( I), dated the 5th February, 1965, in the performance of his functions,

S.O. 4ft3.—In exercise of t he powers conferred by section 5G of the Repre-a sentation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby fixes the horns from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuanie of its notification No. 10Q/RJ;-CS/2/64(l) dated the. 5th February, 1!>Q5.
