IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
New Delhi , the 11th June 1965
SUBJECT, Import policy for Borax and Boric Acid ( S.No. 22 , 31 / V . )
No. 39 - ITC ( PN ) /65.-Attention of the importers is invited to Appendix 28 of the Red Book for the period April 1964-March 1965 wherein the import policy for Borax and Boric Acid has been laid down .
2. The policy for import of Borax and Boric acid has been reviewed in the light of the representations received from the indigenous manufacturers and it has been decided to ban the import of Borax and Boric Acid ( S.No. 22 , 31 / V ) with imme- diate effect . No licences for these items will also be issued under the Export Pro- motion Scheme .
3. In view of the difficult foreign exchangehange position, the parties holding valid licences for the import of Borax and Boric acid are requested to procure their requirements of the said two items from the indigenous manufacturers and they may surrender their licences to Government for cancellation .
