G.S.R, 898.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of Sub-section (1) of section 40 of the Defence of India Act, 1962 (51 of l962), the President hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs, No. G.S.R. 591 dated the 14th February, 1966, namely: —
To the said notification the following proviso shall be added, namely: —
3OQ THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3 (1)] G.S.R. 894.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of Sub-sectio~iT (1)of Section 40 of the Defence of India Act, 1962 (51 of 1962), the Central Govern- ment hereby makes the following amendment In the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs, No. G.S.R. 590 dated the 14th February, 1965, namely: —
To the said notification the following proviso shall be added, namely: —
"Provided that no such prior approval of the Central Government shall be necessary if the Government of the State of Maharashtra decides to reject any application for the release of any person on parole."
