NOTIFICATIONS

S.O. 2690.—The following draft of a notification which the Central Government after considering the recommendations of the Export Inspection Council in this behalf, proposes to issue under section 6 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), is hereby published for general information as required by sub-rule (6) of rule 11 of the Export (Quality Control and In- spection) Rules, 1964.
Notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration on or after the 24th September, 1965, and that any objection or suggestion with res- pect to the same received before the aforesaid date will be considered by the Central Government.
Draft Notification
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Export (Quality Con- trol and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), the Central Government, after con- sulting the Export Inspection Council, being of opinion that it is necessary and expedient so to do for the development of the export trade of India hereby—
8QO THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART II-SKC S(ii)] (S) recognises the Indian Standard IS: 3148-1908 for Metallic Slide Fas- teners Issued by the Indian Standards Institution as the standard specification for Zip Fasteners; and (4) prohibits the export, Inteners unless a mark recognised by the Central Government has been affixed or applied to such Zip Fasteners.
2, Kottiin£ In this notification shall apply to the export of samples of Zip Fasteners to prowectlve buyers if such samples bear the Indian Standards ^r> snttttion certification mark or are accompanied by a certificate issued by n Indian Standards Institution to the effect that such samples conform to tht Indian Standard for Zip Fasteners.
3. In thia notification "Zip Fasteners" shall mean metallic slide fasteners made from inter^locWng metal components mounted on textile tapes.

8.0. 2691.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (6) of rule 11 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Rules 1964, the Central Govern- ment after considering the recommendations of the Export Inspection Council in this behalf, hereby notifies that it) proposes to recognise under section 8 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1663 (22 of 1963), the Indian Standards Institution Certification Mark with respect to Zip Fasteners for the purpose of denoting that where Zip Fasteners are affixed with such mark, they shall be deemed U> be In conformity with the standard specification applicable thereto under clause (c) of section 6 of the said Act.
Explanation.—In this notification "Zip Fasteners" shall mean metallic slide fasteners made from inter-locking metal components moupted dn textile tapes.
2. Notice is hereby riven that the aforesaid proposal will be taken into con- sideration on or after the 24th September, 1969, and that any objection or sug- gestion with rmpect to the Bam* .received before the date aforesaid will be con- sidered by the Central Government.
