NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 14th Septernber 1965
G.S.R. 1384.-Whereas the Central Government is of opinion that it is neces- sary so to do for controlling the rise in prices and preventing the hoarding of foodgrains in the State of Punjab ;
Now. therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section (3A) of section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 ( 10 of 1955 ) , the Central Govern- ment hereby directs that , notwithstanding anything contained in sub - section ( 3 ) of the said section 3. the prices at which rice, wheat , gram . pulses , jowar , baira or maize shall be sold in any locality in the State of Punjab in compliance with an order made with reference to clause ( f) of sub - section ( 2 ) of the said section 3 shall be regulated in accordance with the provisions of the said sub - section (3A ) , and alsoalso authorizes the Director of Food and Supplies , Government of Punjab, to determine , where necessary, the average market rate of aforesaid foodgrains in such locality in the State of Punjab aforesaid .
2. This notification shall remain in force for a period of three months .
