NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 15th September 1965
G.S.R. 1388. In exercise of the powers conferred by clause ( d ) of rule 8 of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat ( Recruitment and Conditions of Service ) Rules, 1957 , the Chairman , after consultation with the Ministry of Finance , hereby makes the following further amendments in the Second Schedule to those Rules , with effect from the 1st September , 1965 , namely: ----
In the Second Schedule to the said Rules , under the heading Class I-Gazet- ted, in the third column showing the pay or scale of pay otherwise admissible-
( i ) against item " 1. Secretary " for the figures ' 3000 ' , the figures ' 3500 ' shall be substituted ; and
( ii ) against item " 1 , A Joint Secretary " for the figures ' 2250' the follow- ing figures and words shall be substituted : '2500-125/ 2-2750 .
on NOTE 1. The first increment in the scale of pay of Rs . 2500-125/ 2-2750 , completion of two years service shall not be automatic but shall be granted only to officers of proved efficiency after a positive assessment has been made in each case of the performance of the officer .
NOTE 2. An officer who was holding on 1st September , 1965 , the post of Joint Secretary in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat , shall be allowed the first increment in the revised scale of Rs . 2500-125/ 2-2750 raising his pay to Rs . 2625 on 1st September , 1966 , or on completion of two years service in that post , whichever is later, subjectect to the assessmentesment mentioned in Note 1 above . '
