NOTIFICATIONS

New Delhi, the 28th September 1965

S.O. 3095.—The following draft of a notification which the Central Government, after considering the recommendations of the Export Inspection Council In this behalf, proposes to issue under section 6 of the Export {Quality Control and Inspec- tion) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), is hereby published for general information required by sub-rule (6) of rule 11 of the Export (Quality Control end Inspection) Rules, 1964,

Notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration on or after the 28th October, 1963 and that any objection or suggestion with respect to the same received before the aforesaid date will be considered by the Central Government.

Draft Notification

In exercise of the Powers conferred by section 6 of the Export (Quality Con- trol and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), the Central Government, after con- sulting the Export Inspection Council, being of opinion that it Is necessary and expedient so to do for the development of the export trade of India hereby—

(1) notifies that Steel and Steel Products shall be subject to quality con- trol and inspection prior to export;

(2) specifies the Inspection in accordance with the Export of Steel and Steel Products (Inspection) Rules. 1965 as the type of Inspection which will be applied to Steel and Steel Products prior to their export;

(3) recognises the Indian Standards IS:226-1962; 13:277-1962; IS:279-1961; 18:280-1962; IS:432--1960; IS:513-1963 (1964); IS:961-1962; IS:1029-1956 (1960); IS:1O79-1963; 18:1148-1964; IS:1149-1964; IS:1875-1961; IS:1977- 1962; IS:2062-1962; IS:2073-1962; IS:2830-1964 and IS:2831-1964, for Steel and Steel Products; issued by the Indian Standards Institution, as the standard specifications for Steel and Steel Products; and

(4) prohibits the export, in the course of international trade, of Steel and Steel Products unless a mark recognised by the Central Government has been affixed or applied to such Steel and Steel Products.

2. Nothing in this notification shall apply to export by sea, land or air of samples of Steel and Steel Products to prospective buyers If such samples bear the Indian Standards Institution Certification Mark or are accompanied by a certificate issued by the Indian Standards Institution to the effect that such samples conform to the Indian Standard for Steel and Steel Products.

3. In this notification "Steel and Steel Products" shall mean the following items of Steel and Steel Products as described in the Indian Standard specified against a*ch, namely: —

SO 3096 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963, (22 of 1983), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:—

1 Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Export of Steel and Steel Products (Inspection) Rules. 1965.

(2) They shall come into force on 1st November, 1965.

2. Definition.—In these rules Steel and Steel Products mean the following Items of steel and steel products as described in the Indian Standard specified against each, namely:—

3. Procedure of Inspection.—The provisions of the Indian Standards Institution (Certification Marks) Act, 1952 (36 of 1952), the Indian Standards Institution (Certification Marks) Rules, 1955, and the Indian Standards Institution (Certifica- tion Marks) Regulations, 1955, shall, so far as may be, apply to the inspection of Steel and Steel Products prior to export.

S.O. 3097.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (6) of rule 11 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Rules, 1964, the Central Government alter considering the recommendations of the Export Inspection Council in this behalf, hereby notifies that it proposes to recognise under section 8 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection) Act, 1963 (22 of 1963), the Indian Standards Institution Certification Mark with respect to SteeJ and Steel Products for the purpose of denoting that where Steel and Steel Products are affixed with such mark, they shall be deemed to be in conformity with the standard specifications applicable thereto under clause (c) of section fl of the said Act.

Explanation.—In this notification "Steel and Steel Products" shall mean the following Items of Steel and Steel Products as described in the Indian Standard specified against each, namely:—
