IMPORT TRADE CONTROL
New Delhi , the 5th November , 1965 .
SUBJECT . Import of refractories Ban on-
No. 95 - ITC ( PN ) /65.-Attention is invited to the licensing policy for fire bricks (S. No. 237/ IV ) in Appendix 4 to the Import Policy Book ( Red Book ) for the current period, in items of which certain types of refractories other than fire clay bricks will be considered on the recommendation of the sponsoring authori- ty.
2. The policy for import of refractories has been reviewed in the light of the indigenous production of this item and it has been decided that no licences should hereafter be issued for import of the following types of refractories by any cate- gory of importer: ---
( i ) Fire clay refractories .
( ii) Silica Refractories .
( iii) Basic refractories .
( iv) High alumina refractories .
(v) Insulating refractories .
(vi) Fire cements / mortars .
A.U. applications for import of other types of refractories not indigenously manufacturedactured will , however, be considered on the recommendation of the spon- soring authority .
