New Delhi , the 1st January 1966
S.O. 81. Whereas the Central Government is satisfied that it is expedient so to do ; now , therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30A of the Mines and Minerals (Regulation and Development ) Act, 1957 ( 67 of 1957 ) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the late Ministry of Steel , Mines and Fuel ( Department of Mines and Fuel ) , No. S.O. 3094 , dated the 29th December , 1961 , the Central Government hereby directs that the pro- visions of sub - section ( 1 ) of section 9 of the sald Act shallshall apply , with immediate effect , to or in relation to mining leases in respect of coal , granted before the 25th day of October , 1949 .
