NOTIFICATION
CUSTOMS
New Delhi , the 10th January , 1966
G.S.R. 79A . In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 25 of the Customs Act , 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) , the Central Government , being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Financence ( Department of Revenue ) No. 11 - Customs , dated the 1st January , 1961966 , namely :-
In the said notification , for the words , figures and brackets "from the whole of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 ( 32 of 1934 ) " , the words , figures and brackets "from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 (32 of 1934) as is in excess of forty per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted .
2. This Notification shall be deemed to have come into force from the 1st day of January , 1966 .
