8.0 . 2837. In pursuance of section 12 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951 ) , the President is pleased to ca'l upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir to elect a member , in accor- dance with the provisions of the said Act and the rules and orders made there- under , for the purpose of filling the seat of the elected member of the Council of States representing the State of Jammu and Kashmir who is due to retire on the 10th November, 1986, on the expiration of his term of office .
