CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi, the 1st October 1966
G.S.R. 1528.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment In the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue and Insurance) No. 29/66- Central Excises, dated the 1st March, 1966, namely;—
For the existing clause 1 of the second proviso to the said notification, the following clause shall be substituted, namely:
" ]. In the case of Medium-A, Medium-B and Coarse fabrics which answer to the description of "Dhoti", "Saree". "Long Cloth", "Shirting" or "Drill" as denned from time to time by the Textile Commissioner under the Cotton Textile (Control) Order, 1948 and for which maximum ex-factory prices have been specified by the Textile Com- missioner under the said Order—

After the said notification the following proviso shall be inserted:—
"Provided that nothing contained in the above notification shall apply to Medium-A, Medium-B and Coarse cotton fabrics which answer 10 the description of "Dhoti", "Saree", "Long Cloth", "Shirting" or "Drill" as denned from time to time by the Textile Commissioner under the Cotton Textile (Control) Order, 1948 and for which maximum ex- factory prices have been specified by the Textile Commissioner und"r the said Order."
