CUSTOMS
New Delhi , the 23rd November 1966
G.S.R. 1810.- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 25 of the Customs Act , 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) , the Central Government , being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby exempts Jute string cuttings falling under sub- item ( iii ) of Item No. 2 of the Second Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 ( 32 of 1934 ) when exported from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the said Second Schedule as is in excess of the duty leviable at the rate of 20 per cent ad valorem :
Provided that the Assistant Collector of Customs is satisfied that the Jute string cuttings are useless for any purpose to which Jute rope , twist , twine , yarn or string is ordinarily put .
