New Delhi , the 6th January 1967
S.O. 149. In pursuance of the provisions contained in sub - sections ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) of section 13AA of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 , and in superses- sion of its notification No. 508 / WB/ 66 , dated the 24th December , 1966 , the Elec- tion Commission , in consultation with the State Government , hereby designates-
(1) for each of the districts of Cooch Behar , Jalpaiguri , Darjeeling nd Puru- lia, the Deputy Commissioner of the district as the district election officer;
( i ) for each of the districts of West Dinajpur , Malda , Murshidabad , Nadia , 24 -Parganas , Hooghly . Midnapur , Bankura , Burdwan and Birbhum , the District Magistrate of the district as the district election officer ; and
( iii ) for the Calcutta district , the Collector of Calcutta , the Registrar of Co- operative Societies , West Bengal, and the District Magistrate, 24- Parganas , as the district election officers ; and
(iv) with reference to clause ( 111 ) above , directs that the area in respect of which each of the three officers designated therein shall exercise jurisdiction shall respectively be the area comprised within- (a) Wards 2 to 5 , 11 to 16, 28 to 40, 48, 49, 51 and 57 to 60 .
(b) Wards 1. 6 to 10 , 17 to 27, 41 to 47 , 50 , 52 to 56 , 61 to 77 , 79 and 87 to 100; and
(c) Wards 78 and 80 to 86 ,
of the Calcutta Corporation .
