G.S.R. 193.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do hereby exempts all articles, of food, medicines (including medical preparations for removal of nutritional deficien- cies), clothing and blankets consigned by charitable organisations or persona abroad as gifts for the relief of people affected by drought and scarcity in the States of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from the whole of the duty of the customs leviable thereon, provided that the said goods—

This notification shall cease to have effect on the 31st January, 1988 except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such cesser of operation.
