A m e n d m e n ts to Directions by the Speaker under the Rules of procedure of Lok
Sabha^
In pursuance of rules 28, 283(1,) and 389 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Lok Sabha (Fifth Edition), the Speaker has made the following amendments to the Directions: —
DIRECTION 9
], For the existing Direction 9, the following shall be substituted, namely: —
"(e) Ballot relating to Private Members' Restitutions
9. Procedure relating to ballot.—(1) The names of all members who give notices under rule 170 that they wish to move resolutions on a day allotted for private members' resolutions, shall be balloted

12. For the existing Direction 101 A, the following shall be substituted: —
101A. "Procedure jar conducting the business 0/ Committee an Estimates in regard to the examination, of Statutory and Government orsanisations.— The following procedure shall be adopted by the Committee on Estimates in examining the estimates relating to Statutory and Government organisations which do not come withip the purview of the Committee on Public Undertakings: —
(i) A standing sub-Committee of the Committee on Estimates on Statutory and Government organisations may be appointed under rule 263(1; ot the Rules of Procedure at the beginning of each year after the con- stitution of the Committee on Estimates.
(ii) The members of the sub-Committee shall be nominated by the Chairman from amongst the members of the Committee
(iii) The sub-Committee may call fox information or hear officials or take any other evidence connected with the estimates of the Statutory or Government organisation under examination.
(lv; On completion of the examination of the estimates of a Statutory or Gov- ernment organisation, the sub-Committee may arrive at conclusions and prepare~such reports as they may consider necessary.
(v) The reports of the sub-Committee shall be placed before the whole Com- mittee for their consideration and approval.
(vi) The Chairman of the Committee shall regulate the procedure and orga- nisation of the work of the sub-Committee in such manner as he may consider necessary.
NOTE.—If a question arises as to which Statutory and Government organisa- tions should come within the purview of the standing sub-Committee, it shall be referred to the Speaker whose decision ihall be final *
