No. 77 ( L ) / 67 - PA -The following order of the President , dated the 8th March , 1967, is published for general information :- "Whereas the office of the Speaker will become vacant immediately before the commencement of the first meeting of the House of the People on the 16th March , 1967 , and the office of the Deputy Speaker is also vacant;
In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by clause ( 1 ) of article 95 of the Constitution of India , I hereby appcint Seth Govind Das , a Member of the House of the People , to perform the duties of the office of Speaker from the commencement of the said meeting and until the Speaker shall have been chosen by the said House .

" I hereby appoint Seth Govind Das , Shri Hem Barua , Shri S. R. Rane and Shri M. Tirumala Rao to be the persons before any of whom Members of the House of the People may make and subscribe the oath or affir- mation in accordance with the provisions of article 99 of the Consti- tution of India .
