NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 20th March, 1967
SO. 986.—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House of the People by reason of the resignation of Shri Jashvant Mehta elected to that House from the Bhavnagar Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Gujarat;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 140 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect before the 30th April, 19(57, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made thereunder, a person to fill the'vacancy so caused.

S.O. 987.—In pursuance of the provisions of section 30 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints, with respect to the bye-election to be held in the Bhavnagar Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Gujarat in pursuance of its notification No. 100/GJ-HP/l/67(l), dated the 20th March, 1967,—
(a) the 27th March, 1967, as the last date for making -nominations; (b) the 28th March, 1967, as the date for the scrutiny of nominations; (c) the 30th March, 1967, as the last date for the withdrawal of candida-
tures;
