S.O. 1001. In pursuance of the provisions of section 67 of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 ( 43 of 1951 ) , the following declaration containing the name of the candidate elected to fill the vacancy in the Council of States is pub- lished for general information : -

ELECTION TO FILL CASUAL VACANCY
" In pursuance of section 53 ( 2 ) of the Representation of the People Act , 1951 , I declare that Sri V. V. RAMASWAMY alias RAMASWAMY NADAR of 'Thenral' , Post Box No. 1 , Virudhunagar , Ramanathapuram District , has been duly elected by the elected Members of the Legislative Assembly of Madras to fill the vacancy in the Council of States caused by the seat of Sri C. N. Annadurai having become vacant.
