CENTRAL EXCISES

G.S.R. 418.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, read with sub-section (3) of section 3 of th" Mineral Products (Additional Duties of Excise and Customs) Act, 1958 (27 of 1958). the Central Government hereby exempts Light OH, that is to say. a coal- tar distillation product, falling under Item No. 6(i) of the First Schedule to the. Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), produced in any coke oven plant, from—
112 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART M-SEC. 3(ii)] Provided that—(i) it is proved to the satisfaction ot the Collector of Central Excise that such Light Oil is intended for use as feed-stock in the manufacture of thlnners, solvents and solvent naphthas; and
(ii) the procedure set out in Chapter X of the said Rules is followed.
