NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 6th April 1967
S.O. 1232.—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the scats allotted to the State of Kerala in the Council of States by reason of the death of Shri C. K. Govindan Nair;
Now. therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 147 of the said Act, the Election Commission hereby calls upon the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Kerala to elect, in accord- ancc with the provisions of the said Act and of the rules and orders made there- under, a person to fill the vacancy so caused before the 28th April, 1967.

S.O. 1233.—-In pursuance of the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 39 of the Representation of the People Act, 1051, the Election Commission hereby appoints for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100/KL-CS/1/67M'), dated the 6th April, 1967.
fa) the I3th April, 1967, as the last date for making nominations; (b) the 15th April, 1967 as the date for the scrutiny of nominations; (c) the 17th April, 1967, as the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures; (d) the 26th April, 1967, as the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be

S.O. 1235.—In exercise of Ihe powers conferred by section 21 of the Repre- sentntiun of the People Act, 1T51, the Election Commission, in consultation with the Government of Kerala, hereby designates the Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Kerala, to be the Returning. Officer for the election to the Counoil of States to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 10O/KL-CS/1/67O), dated the 6th April, 19G7.

S.O, 1236.-—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) 61 sec- tion 22 of the Representation of the People Act. 1951, the Election Commission hereby appoints the Deputy Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Kerala, to assist the Returning Officer for the election to the Council of States to be held in pursu- ance of its notification No. 100/KL-CS/1/67(1), dated the 6th April, 1967, in the performance of his functions.
