S.O. 1450.—Whereas elections have been held in pursuance of the notifica- tion, dated the 5th April, 1967, issued under section 12 of the Representation of the People Art, 1951 (43 of 1951), for the purpose of filling the seats of the members of the Council of States elected by the elected members of the Legislative Assembly of Kerala who retired on the 2nd April, 1966 on the expiration of their term of office;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 71 of the said Act, the names of the members elected by the elected members of Legislative Assembly of Kerala are hereby notified for general information:—

"In pursuance of the provisions contained in Sub-Section (2) of Section 53 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, I declare that—
J. B. V. Abdullu Koy;i, 11/129, Convent Road, Callcut-1, 2. Kesuvan (Thazhava), Advocate, Quilon, and
3. Balachandra Menon, Meenikode, Vadavanur P. O., Chittur, Palghat have been duly elected by the elected members of the Kerala Legislative Assembly to fill the vacancies in the Council of States caused consequent on the retirement of three members on the expiry of their terms of office on ^he 2nd April, 1966.
