SUBJECT.—Import of raw materials, components and spares by actual users

engaged in the priority industries—Grant of supplementary licences.

No. 33-ITC(PN)/67.—Attention is invited to the Ministry of Commerce Public Notice No. 156-ITC(PN)/66 dated 22nd December, 1966, according to which actual users both in the scheduled and the non-rcheduled sector including small scale units are required to apply for the grant of supplementary licences for raw materials, components and spares after utilising the initial licences for raw mate- rials, components and spares issued to them for the period April, 1966—March, 1967 upto a specified extent. The applications are to be routed through the sponsoring authorities concerned.

2. The import policy for the period April, 1967—March 1968, as announced vide Ministry of Commerce Public Notice No. 32-ITC(PN) /67 dated 1st May, 1967, provides that, in order to enable the priority industries to meet their requirements on a continuing basis, such industries will not be subject to any fixed dates or periods for making their import applications for raw materials, components and spares. Under this policy, the units engaged in priority industries can apply for

Import licences for raw materials, components and spares after utilising the pre- vious set of licences for law materials, components and sparer upto a specified extent as indicated in Section I of the Import Tiade Control Policy (Red Book) fox the period April, 1967—March, 1%8

3. In view of the position stated in paragraph 2 above, the policy and proce- dure for submission oi uppln atiuns for ;>upplt_mentaiy licences ub laid down in the Ministry of Comme ce Public Notice No 156-1J C(PN)/b6 dated 22nd Decem- ber, 1906, has been leviewed and it has been decided that the actual useis need not submit their applications for supplementary licences for law materials, com- ponents and spares under the aforesaid Public Notice dated 22nd December, 1966 The actual useis both in the scheduled and non-scheduled sector including small scale units should apply for their next licence fo raw mateiials, components and spares during April, 1967—March, 1968, period in terms of the policy and proce- dure contained in Section I of the Import Trade Control Policy (Red Book) for the year April, 1967—March, 1968.

4 The applications already made in term<) of Ministry of Commerce. Public Notice No 156 ITC(PN)/66, dated 22nd December, 1966, will be considered by the licensing authorities in accordance with the policy laid down in the said Public Notice

SUBJECT.—Import Policy for Registered Exporters of Chemicals.

No. 34-ITC(PN)/67.—Attention is invited to Section III Part B of the current Import Trade Control Policy Book for the period April, 1967—March, 1968.
