NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 24th August 1967
S.O. 2954. Whereas the Central Government has , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Forward Contracts ( Regulation ) Act , 1952 ( 74 of 1952 ) directed the East Indla Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta , to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods other than ( 1 ) transferable specific delivery contracts and ( 11 ) non -transferable specific delivery contracts for a period upto and including the 24th August , 1967 in the notification of the Gov- ernment of India in the Ministry of Commerce No. S.O. 2864 dated the 17th August , 1967 , published in the Gazette of India , Extraordinary Part II- Section 3- sub - section ( ii ) dated the 17th August , 1967;
And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that in the interest of the trade and in the public interest , it is necessary to extend the said period by a further period of seven days ;
Now , therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred byby section 14 of the sald Act , the Cent . al Government herchy directs the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta , to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods , other than ( i ) Transferable specific delivery contracts and ( ii ) non- trans- ferable specific delivery contracts for a further period of seven days with effect on and from the 25th August , 1967 .
