NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 31st August 1967
S.O. 3087.- Whereas the Central Government has , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Forward Contracts ( Regulation ) Act , 1952 ( 74 of 1952 ) directed the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta , to suspena entering into forward contracts in jute goods other than ( 1) transferable specific delivery contracts and ( ii ) non - transferable specific delivery contracts for a period upto and including the 31st August , 1967 in the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce , No. S. O. 2954 , dated the 24th August, 1967 , published in the Gazette of India ; Extraordinary Part II- Section 3 , Sub - section ( ii ) , dated the 24th August , 1967 ;
And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that in the interest of the trade and in the public interest , itis necessary to extend the said period by a further period of seven days ;
Now, therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the said Act , the Central Government hereby directs the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta , to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods , other than ( 1 ) transferable specific delivery contracts and ( ii ) non - trans- ferable specific delivery contracts for a further period of seven days with effect on and from the 1st September , 1967 .
