NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi, the 30th September 1967
S.O. 3490.—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in the House of the People in the seat held by Shri C. N. Annadurai, a member elected to that House from Madras South Parliamentary Constituency in the State of Madras, by the opera- tion of article 101(2) of the Constitution read with rule 2 of the Prohibition of Simultaneous Membership Rules, 1950;
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect before the 6th November, 1967, in accord- ance with the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made there- under, a person to fill the said vacancy.

S492.—In pursuance of section 56 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 8-00 A.M. to 5-00 P.M. as the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the election to the House of the People from Madras South Parliamentary Constituency, to bo held in pursuance of its notification No. 100/MD/HP/l/67(l), dated the 30th September, 1967.
