NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 10th October 1967
S.O. 3687.- Whereas the Central Government has , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Forward Contracts (Regulation ) Act , 1952 ( 74 of 1952 ) directed the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta , to suspend entering into forward contracts in Jute goods other than ( i ) transferable specific delivery contracts ( ii ) non - transferable specific delivery contracts for a period upto and including the 12th October , 1967 , in the notification of the Gov- ernment of India in the Ministry of Commerce No. S.O. 3599 dated the 5th October , 1967 , published in the Gazette of India , Extraordinary Part II Section 3-sub - section ( ii ) dated the 5th October , 1967 .
And whereas the Central Government if of the copinion that in the interest of the trade and in the public interest , it is necessary to extend the said period by a further period of seven days ;
Now, therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby directs the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta , to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods , other than ( 1) transferable specific delivery contracts and ( 11 ) non - trans- ferable specific delivery contracts for a further period of seven days with effect on and from the 13th October , 1037 .
