New Delhi , the 26th October 1967
8.O. 3881.- Whereas the Central Government has , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Forward Contracts ( Regulation ) Act , 1952 ( 74 of 1952 ) , directed the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta, to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods other than ( i ) transfer- able specific delivery contracts and ( ii ) non - transferable specific delivery con- tracts for a period upto and including the 26th October , 1967 in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce No. S.O .. 3767 dated the 19th October , 1967 , published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary Part II - Section 3- Sub - section ( il ) dated the 19th October , 1967;
And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that in the interest of the trade and in the public interest , it is necessary to extend the said period by a further period of seven days ;
Now, therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the said Act the Central Government hereby directs the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta, to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods , other than ( i ) transferable specific delivery contracts and ( ii ) non -trans- specific delivery contracts for a further period of seven days with effect on and from the 27th October, 1967 .
