CENTRAL EXCISES
New Delhi , the 8th November 1967
G.S.R. 1718.-In excrcise of the powers conferred by sub - rule ( 1 ) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules , 1944 , and in supersession of the notification of the Gov ernment of India in the Ministry of Finance ( Department of Revenue ) Central Excises notification No. 62/65 dated 3rd April 1965 , the Central Government hereby exempts,
(a) tyres for tractors [other than those falling under clause ( b ) ] from se much of the duty leviable thereon under item No. 16 of the First Schedule to the Central Excise and Salt Act , 1944 ( 1 of 1944 ) as is in excess of 15 per cent ad valorem ;
(b) tyres for tractors ( includingng tyres for trailers of tractors ) in respect whereof the Collector is satisfied ,-
( i ) that the tyres are designed and cleared for being used as original equipment tyres by the manufacturers of the tractors ; and ( ii ) a prominent marking as " OE" has been made on every such tyre , from so much of the duty leviable thereon under item No. 16 of the said Schedule as is in excess of 15 per cent of the actual wholesale cash price charged for such утев .
