NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 9th November 1967
S.O. 4050.- Whereas the Central Government has , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Forward Contracts ( Regulation ) Act , 1952 ( 74 of 1952 ) , directed the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta , to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods other than ( i ) transferable specific delivery contracts and ( fi ) non - transferable specific delivery contracts for a period upto and including the 9th November , 1967 , in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce No. S.O. 3961 dated the 2nd November , 1967 , published in the Gazette of India . Extraordinary Part II-Section 3- sub - section ( ii ) dated the 2nd November , 1967 ;
And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that in the interest of the trade and in the public interest , it is necessary to extend the said period by a further period of seven days ;
Now , therefore , in excrcise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the said Act , the Central Government hereby directs the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta , to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods , other than ( i ) transferable specific delivery contracts and ( ii ) non- transferable specific delivery contracts for a further period of seven days with effect on and from the 10th November , 1967
