NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 14th December 1967
S.O. 4459. Whereas the Central Government has , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the Forward Contracts ( Regulation ) Act , 1952 ( 74 of 1952 ) directed the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods other than ( i ) transferable specific delivery contracts and ( ii ) non - transferable specific delivery contracts for a period upto and including the 14th December , 1967 in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce No. S.O. 4362 , dated the 7th December , 1967 , published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part II Section 3 - sub - section ( ii ) dated theted the 7th December , 1967; 1
And whereas the Central Government is of the opinion that in the interest of the trade and in the public interest , it is necessary to extend the said period by a further period of seven days ;
Now , therefore , in exercise of the powers conferred by section 14 of the said Act , the Central Government hereby directs the East India Jute and Hessian Exchange Limited , Calcutta, to suspend entering into forward contracts in jute goods , other than ( 1 ) trans- ferable specific delivery contracts and ( ii ) non - transferable specific delivery contracts for a further period of seven days with effect on and from the 15th December , 1967 .
