SUBJECT ;— Import Policy for Registered Exporters for the period April 1967.-March 1968—Procedure for making nominations.
No. 197-ITC(PN)/67.—Attention is invited to Public Notice No. 162-ITC(PN) /67 dated the 8th November, 1967 under which a revised application form for claiming replenishment licences under the aforesaid policy was prescribed.
2. In the statement of exports enclosed -with the application form attached to the above Public Notice, there is a column for submission of evidence in regard to freight and insurance in respect of exports effected on c.i.f. or C&F basis. A ques- tion has arisen as to whether the registered exporters are required to produce with evidence even in cases where the f-o-b value of goods has been verified by the bank as per the revised forms of bank certificates attached to Public Notice No. 277-ITC(PN)/67 dated 1st December, 1967.
3- The matter has been considered and it is clarified that the registered ex porters, in their own interest, should place the banks in a position to verify the f.o-b. value of the goods and to make a statement to that effect in the bank certi- ficates. In such cases they will not be required to produce evidence of freight and insurance charges before the licensing authorities. Where, however, the f.o-b. value of the goods has not been verified by the banks, the Registered Exporters will be required to produce such evidence to the licensing authority along with the applica- tions for grant of replenishment licences.
