NOTIFICATION
New Delhi , the 18th January 1968
G.S.R. 143. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 22 of the Passports Act , 1987 ( 15 of 1967 ) , the Central Government , being of the opinion that it is necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby exempts the citizens of India , as well as the citizens of the Union of Burma who are members of the hill tribes inhabiting areas within 25 miles on either side of the Indo- Burmese Frontier from the provisions of section 3 of the said Act in so far as the provisions relate to their departure to Burma from within a distance of 25 miles on the Indian sicside of the Indo-Burmese land border .
