New Delhi, the 2nd February 1968

S.O. 474.—Whereas a vacancy has occurred in one of the seats allotted to the State of Bihar in the House of the People by reason of the resignation of Shri Basant Narain Singh, a member elected to that House from Hazaribagh Parlia- mentary Constituency in the State of Bihar;

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 149 of the Representation of the People Act 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Com- mission hereby calls upon the said constituency to elect before the 7th March, 1968, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the Rules and Orders made thereunder, a person to fill the said vacancy.

S.O. 475.—In pursuance of the provisions of section 30 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby appoints with respect to the bye-election to be hold in the Hazaribagh constituency in the State of Bihar in pursuance of its notification No. 100/BR-HP/l/67(l), dated the 3rd February, 1968 :

(a) the 9th February, 1968, as the last date for making nominations; (b) the 10th February, 1968, as the date for the scrutiny of nominations; (c) the 12th February. 1968, as the last date for the withdrawal of candi- datures; (77 ) /%i 1. £. S.O. 476,—In pursuance of section 06 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 (43 of 1951), the Election Commission hereby fixes the hours from 7-30 A.M. to 4-30 P.M. aa the hours during which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken for the election to the House of the People from Hazaribagh Parliamentary Constituency to be held in pursuance of its notification No. 100/BR/HP/l/67(l), dated the 2nd February, 1968;
