G.S.R. 477. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 25 of the Customs Act , 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) and in supersession of the noti- fication of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance ( Department of Revenue and Insurance ) No. 42 -Customs , dated the 1st March . 1966. the Central Government , being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby exempts tobacco , unmanufactured , falling under Item 24 ( 3 ) of the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 ( 32 of 1934 ) , when imported Into India. from so much of the additional duty which is leviable thereon under section 2A of the second - mentioned Act as is in excess of Rs . 4.20 per Kilogram
