Customs
New Delhi , the 14th March 1968
G.S.R. 519. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 25 of the Customs Act , 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) , the Central Government , being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby exempts Benzenc Hexachloride [ falling under Item No. 28 of the First Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 ( 32 of 1924 ) ] , when imported into India in a commercially pure form from-
( i ) so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon , which is specified in the said First Schedule , as is in excess of 10 percent ad valorem , where the standard rate of duty is leviable ; and
( ii ) the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon , which is specifled in the said First Schedule , where the preferential rate of duty is leviable:
Provided that nothing contained in this notification shall apply to any patent or proprietory preparation containing Benzene Hexachloride as an ingredient thereof .
2. This notification shall be in force up to and inclusive of the 31st March, 1969.
