New Delhi , the 27th March 1968
G.S.R. 621. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 2 ) of section 123 of the Customs Act , 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) , and without prejudice to the notification of the Government of India , in the Ministry of Finance ( Department of Revenue & Insurance ) No. 88 - Customs dated 26th August , 1967 , the Central Government hereby specifies the following other classes of goods , as classes of goods to which the said section shall apply , namely : --
(i) cigarettes ;
( ii ) transistors and diodes ;
( iii ) synthetic yarn and metallic yarn ; and
( iv) fabrics made wholly or mainly of synthetic yarn .
