NOTIFICATIONS
New Delhi , the 4th April 1968
3.0 . 1297. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection ) Act , 1963 ( 22 of 1963 ) and after previous publica- tion as required by sub - rule ( 2 ) of rule 11 of the Export ( Quality Control and Inspection ) Rules , 1964 , the Central Government hereby makes the following amend- ment to the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce S.O. 847 dated the 13th March , 1967 , namely :
1. In the said notification-
(i) for paragraph 3 , the following paragraph shall be substituted , namely :
" 3. For the purpose of this notification " rubber beltings " shall mean any of the beltings mentioned in Annexure I to this notification made from woven canvas or woven solid by interweaving layers of cotton and / or hair and binders impregnated with rubber / Insced base / bituminous compound etc. with or without rubber cover , the whole being vulcanised / processed together in a uniform manner . used for the purpose of conveying materials or power transmission " .
(11) In Annexure I , after serlal No. 2 and the entries relating thereto . the following serial number and the entries relating thereto shall be added , namely:-
" 3. Solid woven impregnated cotton belting.
4. Solid woven impregnated hair belting. "

( 1li) in Annexure II, after serial No. B and the entries relating thereto , the following serlal number and the entries relating thereto shall be added , namely : -
" C. Specification for solid - woven impregnated cotton belting .
1. Construction . The belting shall be made from high grade cotton yarn , well and evenly spun , and free from foreign matter or defects and shall be fully im- pregnated with rubber or linseed base or bituminous compound .
2. Requirements . The belting shall conform to the requirements specified below:-
2.1 . Dimensions and Tolerances . The dimensions of the belting shall be as specified by the purchaser subject to the following tolerances :
2.1.1 . Length . The length of the belting shall be as agreed to between the buyer and seller .
2.1.2 . Width . The width of the belting shall be as agreed to between the buyer and seller with the following tolerances:
Width
Tolerances ( a) Upto and including 125 mm .
1.6 mm .
3.2 mm .
( b ) Above 125 mm .
2.2 . Tensile Test. The ultimate tensile stress of the belting shall be not less than 5.27 kg / mm² of nominal cross section .
2.3 . Elongation . The The elongation of belting shall be not less than 2 percent and not more than 6 percent .
D. Specification for solid - woven impregnated hair belting .
1. Construction . The belting shall be woven solid by inter - weaving layers of cotton and/ or hair and binders and shall be fully impregnated with rubber or linseed base or bituminous compound .
2. Requirement . The belting shall conform to the requirement specified below:-
2.1 . Dimensions and Tolerances . The dimensions of the belting shall be as specified by the purchaser subject to the following tolerances ;
2.1.1. Length . The length of the belting shall be as agreed to between the buyer and seller .
2.1.2 . Width ----The width of the belting shall be as agreed to between the buyer and seller with the following tolerances:

1.6 mm .
(a) Upto and including 125 mm .
3.2 mm.
(b ) Above 125 mm .
2.2 . Tensile Test . The ultimate tensile stress of the belting shall be not less than 3 kg / mm² .
2.3 . Elongation. The elongation of the belting shall be not less than 4 percent and not more than 10 per cent . "
2. This notification shall come into force on 22nd April , 1968 .

S.O. 1298. In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 17 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection ) Act , 1963 ( 22 of 1963 ) , the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Export of Rubber Belting (Inspection ) Rules , 1966 , namely :-
1. These rules may be called the Export of Rubber Belting (Inspection ) Amend- ment Rules , 1968 .
2. In the Export of Rubber Belting ( Inspection ) Rules , 1966-

"
(2) In THE SCHEDULE after serial No. 2 and the entries relating thereto , the following serial numbers and the entries relating thereto shall be added namely-
" 3. Solid woven impregnated cotton belting .
4. Solid woven impregnated hair belting ."

S.O. 1299. In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 7 of the Export (Quality Control and Inspection ) Act , 1963 ( 22 of 1963 ) , the Central Government hereby makes the following amendment in the Notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce S.O. 849 dated 13th March , 1967 , namely : ---
In the said notification in Schedule II after serial number 2 and the entries relating thereto , the following serial numbers and the entries relating thereto shall be added , namely-
" 3. Solid woven impregnated cotton belting .
4. Solid woven impregnated hair belting . "
