NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 27th August 1968

S.O. 3390.—Whereas the State Government of Nagaland have intimated some printing mistakes in the names of some villages and also some changes in the boundaries and the names of some territorial divisions referred to in the des- cription of the assembly constituencies No. 4-Tening and 5-Peren In Kohima district given in schedule XII of the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 1966;

And whereas the Commission considers it expedient to correct these print- ing mistakes and also to make amendments in the description of the said consti- tuencies to bring the said Order up-to-date;

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 9 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, the Election Commission hereby makes corrections in the said order as follows: —

(i) in 4-Tening, for the existing description of the extent of the consti- tuency, the description 'Tening town, Tening, Nchangram, Nkiaklwa, Nkio, Tepun, Nzau, Ntu, Njauna, Lalong, Nsong, Ngaulong (Tsma), Mechangbung, Paikholam, Soget, Sinjol Chamcha, Sailhem, Bong- kalong Khelma, Beisutnpui, Inbung, Chalkot, Athibung, Vongkithem, Songsang, Saijang, Lilen and Phanjang villages" shall be substituted; (ii) In 5-Peren, for the existing description of the extent of the consti- tuency, the description "Peren and Jaluke towns, and Peulwa, Benreu, Heningkunglwa, GAILI, Ndunglwa, Mhai, Hainakui, Puilo, Punglwa, Jaluke, Peletkie, Peren. Peren (New), Impai, Kendung, Tesen Mbaupungwa, Ngolwa, Samziurang and Heleilwa villages" shall be substituted and ( 1041) 1042 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART 1I-SEC. 8 (ii) ]

(ill) in the Note at the end of the Schedule after the figures "1966", the words and figures "except that the reference to territorial divisions mentioned in 4-Tening and 6-Peren constituencies shall be taken to mean the area comprised within the territorial divisions on the 1st day of June, 1968" shall be inserted.

ERRATA

- In the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 196S, issued by the Commission on 31st August, 1968, and published in an extraordinary issue of the Gazette of India, Part II-Section 3—Sub-section (ii) dated the 31st August, 1968, at pages 915 to 921, the following corrections shall be made:—

(i) In the headings of the Order the word 'AND' should be inserted between the words 'RESERVATION' and 'ALLOTMENT¹;

(il)In the first line of the Order for the word 'superintendance' read the word 'superintendence';

read '(A)(b)'; (v) In line 2 of sub-paragraph (3) of paragraph 8 the word 'other' should be inserted between the words 'constituency' and 'than'; (vi) After clause (a) of paragraph 11 the word 'and' should be inserted; (vii) In line 3 of clause (c) of paragraph 13 the word 'is' appearing between the words 'office-bearer' and 'authorised' should be omitted; (viii) In line 6 of paragraph 15 for the word 'of appearing between the words 'sections' and 'groups' reaa the word 'or ; (ix) In line 3 of paragraph 19, (,) should be inserted between the words 'Kashmir' and 'notification'. ↩
