No. 31 ( b ) / V] and other Miscellaneous items from Iran during October , 1968- March, 1969 licensing period .
No. 212 - ITC ( PN ) / 68 .-- It has been decided to grant licences to the established im- porters for import of commodities from Iran , as detailed in the Annexure I to this Public Notice , within the prescribed basic years shown against each item therein , during October , 1968- March 1969 licensing period .
2. The basic period for established importers of commodities detailed in Annexure I to this Public Notice has been extended ; and with effect from the licensing period October , 1968-March , 1969 , the basic period will be from 1951-52 to 1965-66 .
3. The established importers , eligible in terms of the current policy , may submit their applications to the respective licensing authority viz . , Joint Chief Controller of Imports and Exports , Bombay or Joint Chief Controller of Imports and Exports (Central Licensing Area ) , New Delhi on or before the 12th October , 1968 in the usual form and manner . No past import documents are required to be produced , provided such documents were submitted to the licensing authority concerned in the past and were accepted by them for issue of licences for import of commodities from Iran , indicated in Annexure I. They should , however , quote details of licences obtained in the preceding two periods . Where , however , the established importers are applying for the first time theyhey are required to produce unimpeachable docu- ments relating to past Imports from Iran in respect of the items as in Annexure I for any one year within the prescribed basic years .
4. It has also been decided that the importers who are eligible in terms of An- nexure II to this Public Notice will also be granted licences for Import of dry fruits only from Iran . They may submit their applications for import of dry fruits only from Iran for October '68-March '69 licensing period to Joint Chief Controller of Imports & Exports ( Central Licensing Area ) , New Delhi on or before the 12th Octo- ber, 1968 in the usual form and manner , complete in all respects .
5. It may be noted that no double benefit will be given in respect of dry fruits , which is permitted for import both under Annexure I and Annexure II . The appli- cants for dry fruits should submit only one application either in terms of Annexure 1 or in terms of Annexure II ; and they should clearly mention in their application that they have applied in one capacity only and not under both .
6. Licensing will be done within the monetary - limit fixed for each item . All incomplete applications will be rejected finally .
7. Import licences granted in eligible cases will be valid for import from fran either by sailing vessels or land route . In the case of dry fruits , import will also be allowed by steam - shlps upto the full face value of the licence and such imports will be on c.i.f. basis . In the case of 'dates ' import should be effected by sailing vessels or land route upto 60 per cent of the face value of the licences and the balance 40 per cent by other means , viz . , steamship , if the licensees so desire , at any time during the validity period of the licences .
8. Import licences issued in pursuance of this Public Notice will be valid for six months and will not be extended further under any circumstances .

No. 10/68 .--In pursuance of the Imports ( Control ) Order , 1955 , the Central Gov- ernment hereby gives general permission to all persons to Import Into India from ony country in the world except the Union of South Africa/ South West Africa , Rhodesia and Portugal , any goods of the description specified in the schedule be- low : -
Provided that-
(1 ) in the case of goods of the description specified in the Schedule below, such goods have not been produced or manufactured in the Union of South Africa/ South West Africa , Rhodesia or Portugal .
( li ) such goods shipped on through consignment to India on or before the 31st March, 1969 without any grace period whatsoever ; and
( iii ) nothing in this licence shall affect the application to any goods , of any prohibition or regulation affecting the import thereof , in force at the time when such goods are imported .
