S.O. 3497.-In pursuance of clause ( v ) of rule 1 of the Second Schedule to the Companies ( Profits ) Surtax Act , 1964 ( 7 of 1964 ) , the Central Government hereby notifies the Life Insurance Corporation of India established under the Life Insurance Corporation Act , 1956 ( 31 of 1956 ) as a financial institution for the purposes of the said clause in respect of the assessment year commencing on the 1st day of April , 1964 and subsequent assessment years .

S.O. 3498.- In pursuance of clause ( i ) of the proviso to sub - section ( 2 ) of section 280ZB and of clause ( i ) of the proviso to sub - section ( 5 ) of section 280ZB of the Income- tax Act , 1961 ( 43 of 1961 ) , the Central Government hereby notifies the Life Insurance Corporation of India established under the Life Insurance Corporation Act , 1956 ( 31 of 1956) as a financial institution for the purposes of those clauses .
