G.S.R. 1810. In exercise of the powers conferred by sub - section ( 1 ) of section 25 of the Cuetoms Act , 1962 ( 52 of 1962 ) , and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance ( Department of Revenue and Insurance ) No. 14/ F . No. Bud . ( Cus . ) / 03 , dated the 7th February , 1968 , the Central Government , being satisfied that itis necessary in the public interest so to do , hereby exempts 'Tea ' falling under I'em No. 5 of the Second Schedule to the Indian Tariff Act , 1934 ( 32 of 1934 ) , from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon under the second mentioned Act as is in excess of 20 per cent ad valorein reduced by 35 paise per kilogram or Rs . 2.65 per kilogram, whichever is less.
