8.O. 3791. In pursuance of section 50 of the Government of Union Territories Act , 1963 ( 20 of 1963 ) , and all other powers enabling him in that behalf , the Pre- sident hereby rescinds the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affairs No. S.O. 2071 , dated the 11th June , 1968 [ published in the Gazette of India, Part II , Section 3 ( 11) -Extraordinary , dated the 11th June , 1968 , at page 691 ] , giving a direction regarding the holding of elections to the Municipal Councils in the Union territory of Pondicherry on or before the 24th October , 1968 .
